I can not imagine how system is going to boot. How hardware is going to communicate with Google's Chrome? I just got a number from Google Voice. I can imagine how everything will going to work with Google Docs, Search, Apps... etc.

I didn't like Google's Chrome when it first came out, and haven't gone back to it to even bother to see if it's improved any. A frist impression lasts a long time, Google. Search the web, great job. Simple, easy to use interface that my cat can use. The browser was too little, too late. We've had browsers for at least 13 years, and that was plenty of time to see how to do it wrong. I just can't see using Google as an OS now. Having my information in some sort of cloud is nothing short of frightening. You hear all the time some breach of security somewhere, and even though I trust Google with my email (really, how odd?), I'm not sure I trust them with my scanned documents, original works and saved files. Not sure I trust Microsoft any more than Google, but at least MS is the evil that I've known for 20 years.

As much as I hear that Win7 and OSX are great, I'm going to be one of those old curmudgeons sticking with 98SE and XP because they are familiar and I know how to make them work for me, not me working for them.

As for netbooks, I find an old laptop to be much more useful. My ten year old Dell Inspiron 3500 only has a five digit Service Tag, but runs XP Home and Winamp just fine. And the price was perfect, free.
